TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the status of their Non-B visa after applying for a teaching job that has since been canceled, leaving them without a contract or work permit. Community responses clarify that without the necessary paperwork from the school, the visa will expire on a specific date, requiring the user to leave Thailand. Additionally, there are discussions on employment regulations and the requirements for teachers in Thailand, including the confusion surrounding various types of visas.

teachers are exempt from the minimum wage by country of nationality requirements :/

Robert Lagas I definitely saw the document, it was given to me by my school. However, I do know international schools that have recently employed at 40k so you are probably right it was more of a guideline. But as far as everything else is concerned, the non imm b multi route was an easier and less strict route to employ cheaper less qualified teachers. Alas, no more.

You information is not correct, there is no minimum wage for teachers to apply for an Extension of Stay.

The Thai government/immigration have been quite clever I think. By shutting the door on the non imm b multi route, it’s forcing employers to deal with internal immigration and therefore complying with all the requirements I mentioned earlier. The problem is some employers haven’t got a clue how to do this.

This is where the confusion starts. Thai immigration/government and the ministry of labour set out clear guidelines/criteria for the employment of teachers. Minimum wage payable, tax, acceptable qualifications. I saw one document at the start of the year that said 50k a month was the minimum for a fully qualified NES teacher. This was avoided by employee and employer alike going down the Non imm b single (then work permit) then non imm b multi where the teacher could just bounce every 90 days. An arrangement suitable to both parties if the school don’t or can’t pay and the teacher doesn’t meet the set criteria - a significant proportion of teachers in Thailand don’t..
Robert *******
Why? Single Entry is enough and than the Extension of Stay. Should not be a problem for a school.

@Robert ******
going back to visa’s, a lot of schools still think they can still hire teachers on non imm b’s (multi’s) - they can’t.. maybe that’s the reason they had a change of heart. It’s taking a long time for schools to realise this.

He is not hired, so he can look for another job.

We still didn’t ‘got’ the work permit. Sorry the grammar is awful.

It's a Typo - a simple mistake typing on these tiny phones

What Mark Allan said is correct. The original visa can not be cancelled so you can stay to your entry stamps "admitted to" date.

Only extensions of stay (which are not a visa) get cancelled when you stop working.

If you don't extend it with the proper paperwork from the school, it will expire Nov 25 and you must leave the country before that date. You don't have an extension or a work permit so you can leave without cancelling anything and stay until that date.
