When it comes to requesting an a 30 day extension on my METV at a local immigration office, what documentation do I need to provide? And is there a form I need to complete? Thanks in advance.

Answer summary

To request a 30-day extension on your METV (Multiple Entry Tourist Visa) at a local immigration office in Thailand, you need to complete a TM7 form, which can be obtained at the office. It's important to check with the specific immigration office for their document requirements. Some offices may offer photocopying services for a fee. Additionally, the number of possible extensions on a METV can vary, but it's a practical option for those looking to stay in Thailand for an extended period.

Why waste money on a metv if you are just going to extend when you're here?? 555

Because there is almost no other way to legally stay about 9 months in Thailand as a tourist.

Its very smart to get one.

@Colin *******

the METV multiple entry tourist visa is valid for the FIRST 6 MONTHS FROM its DATE of ISSUE.

Each entry into Thailand gets you a 60 day STAMP.

Each Entry into Thailand is eligible for ONE 30 Day extension of stay at your local Thai immigration office for 1900 Thai baht.

Some offices will make photocopies and fill in the forms for you. They charge 100 baht.

You fill out a TM7 form (get it at the office) you need copies, etc,

this is a general list

in Phuket you can go to three different immigration offices (the one at Blue Tree Waterpark, the one in Patong and the main Phuket office) pick one. 🙂 Krabi only has one office.
