Depends what colour your skin is, but for me I never had to show any money when entering Thailand.

Easily solved. Western Union. You can do a direct bank transfer from account in your home country. Dont need card.

All accounts get closed after 1 year of inactivity and the money is stolen

Go to that airlines service counter, reputable airlines will get you on the next flight out (even if its a different airline)

That's less about mindset and more about practicality. Thailand is a first world country already. Philippines is a third world hell hole, besides the unbelievably beautiful girls. Infrastructure is from the 1600's, healthcare is worse than africa and average incomes are lower, Philippines has overpopulation issues. Plus, Filipinos are more aligned with western culture and speak great English. Thais have a very strong Asian culture and were never colonised.

No they aren't, the Mexico/US border (entering the US from Mexico) is one of the most secure crossings in the world.
