Nice! Months of bank statements needed? Did they require them to be stamped by the bank or check your account balance on your phone?

Mind if I message you with a question about applying in Jakarta?

They will want a photocopy of your Lao entry stamp from your passport. Some have said two copies, can’t hurt. Sign them.

I’m curious what you used as a payslip if you’re working for your own company. Was this a 1099 from a past client or copy of a paid invoice?

Interring, thanks. Yes it seems like an odd request like they’re mixing up being a business owner and employee of another business.

If it was a new business and you hadn’t yet filed a tax return I wonder what they’d ask for there.

Well, glad you got it sorted out.

Did you apply as the owner of your own company, the one you do contract work under? Or as contracted staff for your client?

Just curious as they seem to only ask for tax returns if you own the company you’re working for, but they also asked for a paystub which is something given to W2/salaried employees.

Normally you wouldn’t have both unless you issued yourself a paystub.

Will be applying soon, been doing requirements gathering. Actual requirements are so specific to the consulate.

Jakarta seems to be a good option, PP if you don’t mind the 6 business days processing.

Try both, Jakarta seems to be more responsive from what others have said.

Also a shorter wait time there.

Just make sure to ask what documents need stamps/notarization.

It will depend on what grounds you’re applying and then what your situation is.

Remote worker for example could be employee for someone else, could mean you own your own business, and they’ll probably want different documents for each.

Need to be specific about your situation, then contact the consular services for various embassies.

Some don’t seem to reply, others do.

The one in Vientiane has been very good at responding to emails regarding the visa requirements.
