Applying for a 60day TR visa today (Australian travelling to Thailand) and I'm flying on the 23rd, will it all be approved in time including COE/Thai pass for me to fly on the 23rd?

If not, I'll push my flight back a week.

Thankyou

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about the feasibility of obtaining a 60-day tourist visa (TR) along with the Certificate of Entry (COE) and Thai Pass before their flight to Thailand on the 23rd. Multiple comments highlighted varying issues with visa processing times, particularly from different consulates and the ongoing e-visa system problems in some regions. One commenter suggested the user could travel under visa exemption and extend their stay instead of applying for a visa, thus simplifying the process. Overall, responses indicated that visa acquisition times can vary significantly by location.

Thereโ€™s a problem with the evisa system at the moment. No announcement as to when it will be fixed but a guess is a day or so.

Australia does not have evisa system, we must apply to the embassy in Cambera or in Sydney and send paperwork and passport to them for the stamp to be stuck in it. Got mine back today from Sydney, took a week including freight from WA and return.

No, that's just the US embassy. The rest of the world is processing visas at the normal rate. Spoke to the embassy here in Australia yesterday.

It applies to any embassy that is using the evisa system. Definitely affecting London too.

is it required to include a departure date? I plan to extend my visa and convert. I dont have a departure date?

Also it is required to have a local guarantor?

Im going december for 56 days do i need to get a single entry or will i be ok on my 30 days on arrival and extending in thailand

@David ******
You can (in general) arrive on a 30-day visa-exemption and extend 30 days. You should check that your home country will issue a Thailand Pass for a visa-exempt entry.

put your arrival hotel for guarantor, that's a generic form for many visa types. Put the length of time you will be stamped in for according to your visa or exempt entry on arrival as your departure date, you are not bound by it.

It all depends on your consulate. In the US there are huge issues at the LA consulate, their visa systems is down for days, they can't issue any visa.

I've pushed it back to the 30th to be safe. They said 2 weeks max

@Peter ********
yes good luck. Hope your consulate there has some capable folks. It is a total chaos because of slow adaptation to the stampless visa and TP, 1 day quarantine and STV schemes. All brand new and consulates got caught unprepared.

Yes I can imagine. That really sucks. We haven't changed to the electronic stampless visa system yet ๐Ÿ˜‚
