most IOs are unskilled but like to exercise their power. Same in all other countries. Many are very abrupt & border on being impolite & dictatorial, as the powers that be allow them so to be.

pleased to see your entry. Although a very frequent visitor, I’ve been wondering if what you say is the case, similar as we could with the 30 day exemption, extended a further 30days by exiting & re entering.

Despite all my comings & goings to Thailand, I’ve always found so much confusion re the many Visa’s applicable, & so many conflicting opinions.

you have made the most accurate & sensible comment. Also you give the correct penalties to date.

If one has inadvertently overstayed by a day or perhaps two, owing to perhaps booking flights in advance & not realising you’ve booked your departure date in excess of your visa allowance it’ll be brought to your notice by immigration at the airport. You will then 500Baht for each day overstayed, & a stamp in your passport will confirm you have paid the fine. Nothing more than that, & all will be forgiven, no big deal, offer your apology & away you go.

If your stoped out of the airport ie anywhere else, you could be arrested, but if found to have made a clerical booking error, pay the fine, eat humble pie remain polite, all will be well.

They are aware they, us & everbody can make a mistake. But always remain calm & polite. The lack of respect is worse than overstaying one or two days.

But don’t make a habit of it.

no such offence of overstaying in U.K., or any immigration conditions of which to comply, just get in a rubber dinghy & paddle across the channel.

Don’t worry about getting into difficulties our marvellous boarder patrol boats will meet up with you & bring you the rest of the way.

I suggest you research your facts. & look back at the disastrous results that successive Labour Governments have always caused. Spend, spend, spend, talk, talk, talk, & never anything to show for it. They’re a disaster & always have been. Now the NHS is virtually finished, private health care will become the norm, as is dentistry.

yes, just shows how unbelievably correct you are.

All the exaggerated fuss & palaver for a bonafide decent law abiding Thai citizen to come to the U.K. for a holiday accompanied by a U.K. resident & guarantor, yet, illegal immigrants from anywhere & risk element Countries can flock over here in rubber boats unchallenged, hundreds a day & then no expense spared looking after them, when there’s hardly any NHS dentists & the NHS is on its knees.

All disgusting, this Country is the Worlds dumping dustbin.

excellent advice, on here too many contradictions by too many unqualified people. One needs expert advice from a legally qualified & experienced Thai solicitor.

It can be very easy to break Thai Law especially with domestic, work, employment & ownership issues. Not like here in the U.K. when foreigners from anywhere can come and do as they wish.
