We are seeing on these pages, more and more cases of entry being denied or the entrant being requested to buy an exit ticket for a date within the next 60 days.
So, basically, it’s not a guaranteed method of staying in Thailand. Far better to get the correct visa that suits your situation.
I can’t understand it myself. I went to a club full of old expats. Some had their wives with them. But none of them looked happy! Aren’t they ‘living the dream’?
I think bitter old guys shouldn’t join these pages. Problem is, when you get old you have less time for time wasters and idiots. And, unfortunately, a lot of the questions aren’t worth asking or are just stupid. It sets them off.
I have taken the chance in the past but now I try to get cover. It’s really only useful in very serious circumstances, otherwise it really isn’t value for money.
My insurer has said they try not to endorse surgery, preferring an early return to my home country, to then be dumped and left to the mercy of the health system. So, other than an extreme emergency, they are a rip off.
