I deposit the required amount during each calendar month but with no pattern at all in terms of amounts or number of transfers.

On request KBank give me a 12 month printout showing all the international transfers into my account.

This has always been acceptable to Chiang Mai Immigration.

Go to the local branch of your Thai bank that deals with International transactions for all branches in your area.

They can provide a printout of international transfers to your account.

For example for KBank in Chiang Mai it is the Tha Pae Rd branch.

Chiang Mai Immigration accept this printout as monthly proof of funds

ok but even if they did I must say that the process to get the International statement from my bank in Chiang Mai was so quick and easy that I would do that for preference.

Chiang Mai Immigration did not ask me for source of funds they just needed a statement from my Thai bank showing the International transfers into my account over the previous year.

Not wholly relevant but last week I renewed my O-A retirement visa in Chiang Mai for the first time. Same requirement: 65,000 baht international transfer in per month.

I had to provide a stand-alone statement of International Transfers into my account going back for 12 months.

The local KBank branch (not my home branch) that handles International business was familiar with the requirement and produced exactly what was needed.

In addition I had to provide a full bank statement for the last 2 months so that the international transfers could be cross-checked.

The IO told me that for my next extension I’d need to provide 12 months of full bank statements in addition to the International statement.

was listening! Was just clarifying is all 😊 Also I thought an O-A had a 2 year life as it were. So come in again just before the visa expires and get stamped for a second year. Hadn’t realised subsequent 12 month extensions were possible with the appropriate insurance.

so in terms of the first option. You are saying I can extend my current stay by 12 months if I have the necessary insurance? And I can do that at an Immigration office? Is there a particular document set or application that is required to do so?

In terms of the second option. I can leave the country and return on a 30 day entry. Then apply at an Immigration office for a non-O “initial visa.” But I cannot do that in-country from my position on an O-A extension?

my lady’s friend works at Immigration. When I was in the same position she contacted her. She said to give it up to 4 days to go through. I don’t know why but patience would appear to be a virtue in this instance. It went through on Day 3.
