the Chicago and LA don't agree. They both want THAI health insurance. Which is mindboggling when my pension from US government includes a policy that far exceeds anything I can buy.

if you think that matters with ICE on roids? Sorely mistaken.

I would highly recommend that she not come to the USA. When they are imprisoning Canadians, deporting brits, Germans, even American citizens? She's Asian so Ilshe has a target on her back.

There are a lot of great places in the world that don't have a paranoid, schizophrenic in charge.

I actually faced problems returning to US because of this. We have been abroad for 15 years. My passport expired June of 2024. I renewed using the embassy in Rome (living in Italy at that time). Flew to Texas in August and no problems. We did a run across the border into Mexico. Coming back I got detained by ICE because I didn't have a USA address. They let me go when I showed my Italian carta d identita. CRAZY I know!! The equivalent of a non-US document letting me back into the US when I was a legitimate (nearly lifelong 67 years) passport holder.

I can only assume that because my passport was issued through an embassy that triggered something. In hindsight I probably should have renewed using my brother's address stateside.

So to answer OP question. At least in my case it did make a difference.

thanks Andy. Problem is it's a bit far from where I need to be in terms of my physical and emotional health.

which one doesn't require a thai account.
Mary ********
We lived there for 9 years and didn't have a thai bank account. Now the renewal of your visa requires a certain amount deposited in a thai bank account every month In a certain way.
