TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation reveals that obtaining a tourist visa to the USA for a Thai woman can be extremely challenging, often necessitating evidence of strong ties to Thailand to prove she will return after her visit. Common requirements discussed include having a stable job, owning assets like property, and showing sufficient financial means for travel. Many commenters emphasized the history of strict immigration policies, especially regarding individuals from Thailand, citing reasons such as concerns about overstaying and illegal work in the US. Suggestions include applying for a K1 fiancé visa as a potentially easier route if there is intent to marry, and other strategies like traveling to third countries to build a travel history.
You must show that you do not have interest in overstaying, show you can afford to travel, not need to work to support you trip.
1 have job that pay a decent wage show funds deposit regularly
2 have resident property under your own name
3 have fat bank account for 6 months and longer.
4 no relatives in the state which can provide shelter and job. BF or GF should show regardless of approve or not, it will enter into evidence when you apply for a fiance or married visa.

They only allow a small number from Thailand to the USA. And not Trumps fault. Obama pulling the military out of Thailand has hurt relations. Check with the embassy and see how long the wait list. I brought my wife to the USA on a 90 day marriage visa and got married in 2015.

It is difficult for a Thai to get a tourist visa to the USA. That is just the way it has been.
I know a Thai woman that has a government job. She had been rejected twice. She has a moderate income. Not much money.
I know another Thai woman in Bangkok that visits her sister in the USA usually once per year.
She has a very good job for a large company. Makes a very good income. Owns an expensive custom built home in Bangkok.
To get a tourist visa they are strict to be sure the person returns to Thailand. And has a reason to.

Same shit in Europe. "Refugees" can just walk into Europe, without much hassle. But if we want something we have to deal with a lot of bureaucratic nonsenses.

Very difficult and requires showing funds in bank to ensure their return and all sorts of paperwork. Best of luck!

It’s because many don’t leave when there visa expires

Ridiculous how some ppl have to politicize everything.
The sitting president has not caused the current visa situation, it’s been this way for decades.
Everyone knows this.
Anyone ignoring this fact is intentionally hijacking Jack’s post to cause conflict.
What finally got my wife's visa approved, after being rejected twice, was we gave them a (truthful) sob story about her needing to accompany me to the US for an operation. They gave her a tourist visa valid only for 6 months to accommodate that, and then the next year she applied for a tourist visa again and they gave her one that was valid for 10 years. That was back in 2013.

Not trump stopped. Definitely not helping. Always difficult for U.S. visa. My fiancee has money, land, and home, had to bring her on a K9 marriage visa. Easiest and shortest route.
She needs something that ties her to Thailand..ie: owns a house, car , children, above avg career otherwise changes are slim even now & even worse with Trump as it's white Nationalist running the show and she's not white unfortunately

yeah sure one thing i learnt in my 20 odd years in the greatest military is most guys puffing themselves up generally are big babies and bullies. So yep mickey are you one of them? Big brawn with no brains glad we have the grey men of SF. You know if you know.
I'm 60. You Gen Z babies have no clue. Yours is the weakest Generation in the history of this world. You're a pathetic bunch of sissies. I know it. You know it. Everyone knows it. Sit down child and go to your safe space before you stub your toe and cry. 😉
You're just proving you're an immature jerk with everything you say. 60 years old and so unhappy with your life choices that you make a profile on social media, to get into arguments with strangers.🖕
Unhappy with my life choices? 😆 I received full retirement after 36 yrs working for Teamsters Union at the age of 54. 2 more years I get Social Security and will live in S.E. Asia like a rich man. Unlike yourself, I'm disciplined and fit and have excellent health. I think you might want to examine YOUR life choices Chubs. 😆 🤣
Tell that to the guy's who made it about Trump and so I replied back to them.;]

All you need to do is answer all questions truthfully, give all necessary documents needed.

You’re fighting an uphill battle. The one question they say they’re answering is, why would she leave the US once here. This is a tough one as they see the US as paradise on earth and once here why in heaven’s name would they want to leave. It’s been this way for at least 20 years and is now even hard under tRump.
👆This. 🎯 When transiting to a flight from BKK to CUN in SFO, USCBP skeptically questioned my Thai wife, apparently in complete disbelief that she was only passing through San Francisco on her way to Mexico-- NOT planning or desiring to stay in the USA. 🙄 Personally, I cut up my US PR card years ago. Never going back.

If she's a bar girl you met on holiday here and your trying to bring her over, then she might have a while wardrobe of problems that stop her visa application ,that's usually why someone would get rejected 4 times or maybe she's doing something wrong as well if her reading English isn't good 👍🏼

If she’s a frequent traveler to other countries as a job house in Thailand, money in a bank, she shouldn’t have a problem getting a visa
Marshal *********
Because they know she's likely going to try and overstay
let me break this down for you. If she's under 60 and doesn't have assets over about $100k USD, and a high paying job or a profitable business (like legitimately profitable), they're likely not going to give her a tourist visa.
If you want to meet her, fly to her. It's easier

I would highly recommend that she not come to the USA. When they are imprisoning Canadians, deporting brits, Germans, even American citizens? She's Asian so Ilshe has a target on her back.
There are a lot of great places in the world that don't have a paranoid, schizophrenic in charge.
part of the visa process will require proof of ability to support her stay herself should you and her have any issues and clear proof of her intentions to return to Thailand at the dates specified in her application
You are required only to prove your ability to support her stay
The emphasis is always on her status I would suggest you use an immigration service in the states to ensure all criteria is met

I tried the same thing in 2017. It’s almost impossible for an average Thai woman to get a tourist visa to the U.S. without a high profile job or something else that would compel her to return after the visa expired. And impossible to get one if they list a boyfriend in the states they want to visit. Immigration goes into it assuming they won’t come back and it’s up to the girl to convince them they will, and they rarely can. It’s because there have been too many that didn’t come back. Also, many get married there on the tourist visa and that totally subverts the K1 visa process, which is basically immigration fraud. The only sure way is a K1 fiancé visa or a marriage visa. I brought my wife to the states in 2017 on a K1 visa after unsuccessful tourist visa attempts, and we’ve been married almost 8 years now. Best decision I ever made.

USA is a country everyone should avoid. It has been poisoned by Trump and his cronies, and is fast becoming an authoritarian state.
it's the same for any Asian wanting to visit the UK. With so many illegal channel crossings they think all asians will visit and never leave.

Have you not seen the stories of people being seized and sent to various prisons without due process? It's not just undocumented people. It's US citizens as well. There are many visitors to the US who have been detained for weeks. Please don't risk it right now, if you actually care about this woman.
lol because Thailand has a shortage of woman you say. Woman in Thailand outnumber men almost 5 to1. The ones making it difficult for a thai woman to get a visa to the U.S. is immigration and it's made up of Thai immigration officials who are very strict in the giving of visas to thai woman who have demonstrated a lack of compliance with returning to Thailand when their supposed too.
The problem is that Thais have a reputation for overstaying , working illegally, not just in aus or USA but Uk too. In the uk it is estimated that 40% of Thais on tourist visas abused that status. Then the Uk crackdowned and the visa rejection rates are very high. The criteria is much stricter.

You’ll need to show you have funds to support her, get a fiance Visa and marry her in 90 days. Other than that it is virtually impossible unless she owns property, has a real job, a track record of steady employment and other anchors that will require her return.
The K-1 fiancé(e) visa allows a foreign citizen to enter the United States to marry a U.S. citizen. It's a nonimmigrant visa that provides a temporary stay for up to 90 days during which time the couple must marry. After marriage, the foreign spouse can apply for a gre

My wife and I married 3 plus years. 2023 denied B1/B2 first year marriage anniversary. 2024 denied B1/B2 second year marriage anniversary. We finally applied for the green card May 2024 and nobody has looked at the documents yet. At least with Trump nobody is cutting in line claiming gang violence and getting a court date 10 years later.
for people who meet the minimum financial requirementz, Green Card applications sometimes have a greater chance of success than if applying for a Tourist Visa because the American spouse's particulars are carefully examined when applying for a GC. When applying for a tourist visa the spouse is generally not part of the process.
Kerry *********
However if your plan is to use a Green Card as if it's a multiple entry tourist visa (without actualy moving to the US), that's technically fraud and could cause her to be denied entry to the US at some point.

Go to soi 13 in Sukhumvit
There is a company there that does visas
I forget the name
But they will definitely get it done …
It’s a little pricey so it will depend on how much you really want to bring her here..
I have had 7-8 buddies use it and they all got their girls a visa for the states..
Hope this helps
And God bless the USA 🇺🇸
Oh…
It’s at the beginning of the soi on the right hand side
It has never been easy. It used to take from 12-18 months for a determination. What work does she do? Does she regularly file her Thai income tax? Does she have tangible assets, and work responsibilities in Thailand that she has to return to? Has she ever had a passport before and traveled out of Thailand? Has she ever worked in a bar/gogo? There pretty much has to be a good reason she will return to Thailand after the vacation.
Tony **********
Their reason is that they don't see a compelling reason for her to return. There are 100's of thousands of -overstays"living illegally in USA. They're trying to shut it down. Your easiest for would be a fiancee visa (don't remember the number). But then your have to marry her within 90 days and commit to sponsoring her.
You might try doing other international travel with her to Europe, Australia, Japan, Korea, etc. and showing that she returns. That might help. But with current administration, might wait till 2029 before you apply again.
yeah previous travel might help. My wife has traveled with me to NZ UK and many times to Schengen area and every time she has got the visa faster and a longer validation time.
My wife’s sister’s son is soon ready with his university studies and normally the university organizes practice in the US but has stopped this year! Difficult to get visa for students now because so many Thai students previously overstayed their visas and simply didn’t return back home.
If you don’t follow the rules you make it more difficult
this administration has nothing to do with this. I am married to a Thai woman. We have a house, and a child as well as her family and business here. Can't get her a simple 30 day tourists visa to visit my us family. Instead they say since we're married i must get her a green card. I have no intention of going through that cost and expense for a 3 week vacation
I don’t mind sponsoring but not really ready to marry. That was idea behind spending time together. My dad is elderly so I am the caretaker that’s the reason I can’t go there.
if you just want to spend tine together, why u not just fly to bangkok instead?
Applying for US visa is not that easy, evenhough we have money more than enough in our bank account.
Especially during this time.

I am not sure about the US requirements as I am Australian but I assume it's similar and there are difficulties and strict requirements particularly for younger Asian women.
They generally must demonstrate some ties back to Thailand to indicate they plan to return..
Family and a steady job are usually the minimum and also enough money to support themselves during their stay.
You may also be required to offer a letter of invitation for her and make a commitment to cover accommodation and other expenses it needed.
Those are just a few points I have heard though friends trying to get a tourist visa into Australia for women from just about anywhere in SE Asia and I expect the US has similar requirements.
Has she been making the visa application herself or through an agent?
In some cases the agents can be helpful as they are familiar with meeting all the requirements to satisfy immigration.
Unfortunately you have the cost of the Agent fees as well
