that is you don’t need agents for any of your requirements.
Arriving here with a Non Immigrant O visa obtained in your country from your nearest Thai consulate you will then visit a Bank who will open a Savings account for you.

0Thai baht has been deposited for either 2 or 3 months you then go to an Immigration Office, to apply for
an extension of stay based on retirement, note, it’s an annual
extension of stay; the word visa
is not used.

Andrew, good decision, one that I made more than twenty years ago. I assume from your post that you will be applying for a retirement visa, and prior to leaving the UK you plan to obtain a Non Immigrant O visa
from a Thai consulate in the UK,which is the normal procedure.

Just to clarify: Visas wether based on retirement, marriage or any other reason are actually
stated as an extension of stay from one year to another, provided of course the applicant meets all the requirements.
As Brandon confirmed it is Immigration who ultimately issue these Extensions, so time and money could be wasted by going to anywhere else other than an Immigration Office
