So, assuming he enters in May 1, does the returning date on the plane ticket must be before July 1 to respect the 60 day exempt or can be around August 1 already considering he is going to be accepted for a 30-day extension ?

My first stay will be around 60ndays without extension. The eventual problem is im my second trip ( August-November), when i need the 30 days extension....
