A question, do i need to stay in the country i have applied the DTV ? I am planning a Thailand travel in few months and will apply the DTV in my country of residence. The question is, if they take too long to answer can i be in Thailand when they gave me the answer ?  In this case the plan is to go with the Visa exempt and re-entry later in the year with DTV after approval. Thanks

How long is too long for you? 2 week or 3 week or 4 week? this is not just for you but for anyone who wants to apply for DTV or any visa, have some patience and plan accordingly.....do not take thailand for granted and think they are just waiting for us.

Why don’t you just follow the instructions from the application process?

You risk your application being rejected. They can ask for proof you remain in the country you applied from or even call you in for interview. Time your application so you can remain in the country you apply from until the process completes

Yes, it is possible to visit Thailand with Tourist Visa and wait for DTV Visa approval. Once you received the approval, you can go out of the country to get the departure stamp and activate the DTV Visa. Then, reenter with DTV Visa officially.
