But it makes it a very expensive holiday. I have never paid tht much for a hotel in Thailand. I would stay at less expensive hotels in Australia. In any event Phuket is getting very real tourists. Most are long term Thailand livers who have been stuck in their passport country and just want to get home to wives and families and not be stuck in an expensive hotel.

My understanding is that touists are alreadyfed up and that this will only add to the destruction of tourism in Thailand. Their much touted tourist numbers so far include very few real tourists. Most are long term foreigners returning tolive again in Thailand and husbands of Thai wives (and girlfriends) returning home to live. Clearly not the tourists that are touted.

You are not applying for a visa but an extension ofstay.

I understand that you need a degree to obtain a work permit to work legally as a teacher in Thailand.

Not many jobs are available to foreigner unless youhave excellent English and a degree for work as a school teacher.
