wonder if he could say he lost the tm6 and get a new one via a police station. Would that reset to his new passport number and after the 1st in person report, allow him to again use the online system?
yep however it is probably around a yearâs time đ¤and it will be pretty depressing if borders and travel arenât open by then with vaccines mostly received by those wanting it.
Surprised no one mentioned that if things improve and it becomes possible to do a short border hop, you can actually get nearly 2 years out of that O-A visa. Then you wonât need to worry till a year later! As Tod said, you may already have a shortened 1st year due to when your insurance runs out and youâll need to renew it too.
Probably good to keep your income arrangements going though as no one knows how long this Covid situation will drag on!
I assume you mean doing from Thailand so pretty sure you can renew your passport early so Iâd think do that via the (Oz?) embassy before you go for your next extension. Just leave enough time! You maybe wonât need to transfer to you old passport but take both to Immigration
yep correct. I went to CW with wife and was told the same. âNeed to have done an extension first so you can then change to an extension based on marriage from an O-Aâ. You could let it expire and then do it a different way but best ask Tod or Immigration.
You maybe can get the medical certificate just before you leave Thailand and it is accepted within 3 months if applying for a new O-A, info direct from the Thai embassy in Australia so might be the same in the US toođ
