I'm on O-A Visa which expired in July..but am currently on " Permission to stay" stamp dated March 20 2021 ..I'm wondering if I can request an extension of stay before the usual 30 days prior to that date? I'm not going ( I'm assuming) to be given a full year anyway as my insurance policy is dated for Sept. And looking to Vist America around the time my Permission is up.. So it would make it easier to make plans..
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on an expired O-A visa but holds a 'Permission to stay' stamp. They inquire about the ability to request an extension of stay before the usual 30-day notice, considering their insurance policy only lasts until September. Commenters assert that other requirements, such as banked money or monthly income, must also be met for the extension. One user suggests returning to the USA to obtain a new O-A visa to avoid complications.
Thought about that.. thinking it's easier to just get the extention then to go through all the hassle of getting Background checks, Checks for elephantitis, and stage 3 syphilis ...lol, and I want to be sure I'm all set to come back ..it was hard enough to get back from America last March..
You maybe can get the medical certificate just before you leave Thailand and it is accepted within 3 months if applying for a new O-A, info direct from the Thai embassy in Australia so might be the same in the US tooπ
