It's a bit random tbh, I know some folk who've had several visits and interviews at the IO but we've never had a visit and only had 1 interview at the IO which was just a casual chit chat with my wife and our neighbour who was there as our witness.

... it's been a while Tod, pre-covid, but as well as still showing available on their website, I seem to remember a post somewhere of someone mentioning they got the ME there. 🤔

The Thai Consulate in Saigon still offers them, or at least on their website, that's where I used to get my non O ME's from.

... I was doing that working O&G a number of years ago and they pulled me up, questioned me and told me to get the correct visa. I then did a few years on the muliple entry visa until covid and now on the 1 year extensions getting re-entry permits when required.

They always slip a new one into my passport in Chiang Mai. I just did my extension a few weeks ago and when I asked she showed me it tucked into the plastic cover for my Passport.

... correct, they did that for me at Chiang Mai last week but I had to ask as they slipped it into my PP plastic cover and didn't tell me. 😉

... yes, every foreigner is required to file a TM30 or have it filed for them.
