Hi, my 90 days is up on Sunday, I fly to Singapore the following Wednesday. What happens if I don't do my 90 day reporting and just try to leave on the 12th - I have a retirement visa. If I can avoid going to immigration before to file my 90 days I'd love to but I don't need to get into an issue at the airport on the 12th. Any advice?

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you do not complete your 90-day reporting before leaving Thailand with a retirement visa, you may be subject to a fine of 2,000 Thai baht. Additionally, while leaving the country might not cause immediate issues at immigration, failing to file a timely report could result in complications when you return and attempt to file your next report. It is advisable to handle the 90-day report before your departure to avoid any potential penalties and ensure your re-entry permit is in order.

agree and I thought he was actually asking 2 questions.

i think that was what Justin got wound up about and was on about,

Seems the O/P asked two things

1 - what happens if he doesn't file the report and leaves

AND

2 - will have an issue at the airport

@Tod ********
yes that the way I read it as well. Justin should be Sin Binned haha

i think in his way Justin was trying to point out that leaving the country without doing a 90 day report doesn't cause a person ANY grief at all when you leave.

And about that he is correct (y) , no one cares when you go to stamp out if you ever filed a 90 day report before or not

@Tod ********
maybe but think he could have said it a little nicer haha.

@Justin *********
maybe you should read it again he asked what happens if he doesn't file and any issues at airport.

I think you realize these are your choices

GO and file a 90 day report before you leave the country (like you're supposed to)

OR

Do nothing, when you come back and go to do the next 90 day report see if they notice you failed to file on time the last time, if they did they'll fine you and if they don't you're okay.

Either way it's not the end of the world as the fine is 2000baht and doesn't increase

Worst thing is yr online reporting will get rejected. My experience below fyi.

90 reporting due June 4, reported online May 24, leave Thailand May 24.

May 26 received email rejected, reason provided applicant left the Kingdom.

@Kenny ****
if you are leaving thailand on or before the 90 day report due date you do not need to report šŸ˜‰

When you say your 90 days is up are you just referring to 90 day report or do you mean your 90 day visa will expire on the 10th? The 2 are different issues, the latter being more severe

No. I'm on a 1yr retirement, just my 90 day reporting.

OK, so you can either report or not. If you don't you will face a 2k baht fine at some point but there should be no other repercussions. If that's a non-o you'll need a re-entry permit to keep it alive when you leave Thailand
Neil **************

I have a 1yr multiple re-entry so shouldn't be an issue.

If your 90 day report is due this coming Sunday... June 9th

And IF you fly out of Thailand on June 12th without filing the 90 day report...

You are subject to a 2,000 Thai baht FINE.

The fact that you leave Thailand does not forgive that you are LATE in filing.

And be sure to buy and have a Re-entry permit in your passport before you depart Thailand.

You need it to keep valid your current expiration date of your One year extension of stay. The reentry permit does that.

I see a visit to Thai Immigration to make your 90 day report BEFORE YOU FLY OUT OF THAILAND June 12th.

rest assured that I am not clueless.

IF he does not file the 90 day report, his departure from Thailand is NOT šŸš« affected.

Thai Immigration Officers don't look at that failure of filing upon stamping out of Thailand.

It's his NEXT VISIT visit to his local the Thai Immigration office, where he lives in Thailand, that he may be fined 2,000 Thai baht for not filing the 90 day report which was due June 10th.

lol so now youā€™ve completely changed what u said. The OPā€™s question was about any issues ā€œAT THE AIRPORTā€ not when he comes back ā€œAT THE AIRPORTā€ And u answered him as if there was. U made no mention in ur answer that it was an issue on his return when he does another 90 report. So not only r u clueless, u canā€™t even read a question on here

When I google there appears to be a 7 day grace period - I'd be 3 days over. Would that count do you think?
Graham ******
You should have reported online already
Graham ******
@Neil *************
the grace is for reporting, not leaving
James ********
@Neil *************
you Must make the 90 day report IN PERSON during the 7 days from its DUE DATE.

LEAVING the country does NOT šŸš« end the responsibility to file it.

The due date is Sunday June 10th

I think I'm too late for that - I'd figured in my head I was good so went beyond the cut off date for online filing as well. DUH!
Tod *********
@Justin *********
of course he wouldn't get fined at the airport, the officers at passport control don't care if he ever filed a 90 day report or not .

BUT

when he comes back and goes to do the next 90 day report he runs a good chance of them catching that he left thailand AFTER the previous one was due and pulls a 2000baht fine before he can file again.
Tod *********
how about you dial back the agro a notch or three there
@Justin *********
?

AND

let's ease up on denigrating name calling for the mod team too. šŸ˜•

Ok, got it and I feel suitably reprimanded by the masses! ha ha . . . 2k or an awful day spent at immigrations!

... it takes a couple of minutes doing it online in the comfort of your favourite armchair so I suggest you do just that.

Tod *********
@Rob ******
since they did the update of the 90 day online website they now say you can report from 2 weeks before down until 1 week before online and people have gotten rejection applying outside that window

go to immigration early on a Tuesday or wens. U should be in and out quickly. Not worth the hassle of skipping or late report. Immigration is all different, but they tend to be sticklers of people not following the rules. Not sure if you could have an agent do your report.
