It is because you have a real longterm visa not a touristtype visa like DTV.

Would not recommend to leave the country you applied in, until the visa is granted, or the visa may be rejected, and 10.000+ baht lost.

If you have mentioned the departure date in the application, Embassies tend to wait until the last week before departure to grant the visa.
