Can I use a sponsor for the 500,000 baht requirement for a DTV Workcation visa in Thailand?

Officially from Ho chi minh in Vietnam for DTV Workcation, the information I read says we can use a sponsor for the 500k bhat in account.

After paying for the application they have stated that a sponsor is not allowed, and the funds need to be shown in my account for a minimum of 6 months.

Can anyone clarify why the sponsor cannot be accepted when everywhere I've looked it seemed a legitimate path?

Is this a glitch in the system? Did the rules change?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user indicates confusion over contradictory information regarding the requirement of 500,000 baht in their bank account for the DTV Workcation visa, stating that official sources suggest a sponsor can provide this amount, but their application was denied due to the lack of an acceptable sponsor. Responses from community members clarify that sponsorship is generally allowed for dependents, not for main applicants seeking DTV, and many embassies enforce their exclusive policies. It’s suggested that the applicant directly consult their embassy for clarity on current rules.
DTV VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES

The official rules are implemented at the discretion of each embassy, which means even if you cite the official dtv website statement it wont apply if the embassy wont allow it. There are no appeals. The embassy has the final say. Your best bet is to contact the embassy and pose as a prospective applicant requesting further information regarding their specific rules regarding sponsorships. Remember, the whole purpose of the dtv is to keep out those who have no skill to survive and may run out of money. I know it’s not fair but you really need to get direct info from the embassy and perhaps ask whether a soft power route plus sponsorship would work for your situation.

Anonymous participant 746 is actually pretty fair to keep out those people than cant even sustain their living and will be working for coins illegally

Anonymous participant 209 i was only talking about the poster’s exact situation. this person has a sponsorship from a parent— where did you get illegal coins? Let me clarify any doubts: Mine was not a comment on the fairness of the legislation but of its application for the poster’s particular situation.

Each embassy has its own rules

Which are, needless to say, mandatory to follow.

They tell you what to supply, if you don’t in time rejection is round the corner, loosing 10.000+ Baht visafee.

Sponsor letters are usually for parents sponsoring their children's dtv- dependant. I've only read maybe 2 or 3 people who were able to get their main dtv approved with their parents sponsorship letter. This doesn't happen often (not to say impossible)

Workcation is for people whose online earnings enable them to live in Thailand.

If you need someone to sponsor your visa, it means that you are not financially independent. Which implies that you need someone else's resources (money) to fulfill your basic needs (rent, health, food, etc.).

Therefore, I have a hard time seeing why you will be granted a DTV - workcation.

Some Embassies allow and others do not. There was a recent one from Australia

Usually sponsor is for a dependent DTV - when parents are applying for a DTV for their minor age child, they serve as the young child’s sponsor. However, You can easily do a quick search and see other case examples

Who was your sponsor? The acceptable list is quite narrow. What sponsor proof did you provide?

Anonymous participant your not supplying good info. Did your mother write a letter and provide bank statement proof? Regardless, it's not a given in your circumstances, possibly the employer sponsor might fly.
