No, you don’t need any agent.

And being surprised you got no reason for rejection, shows tha you didn’t read the Thai Embassy thoroughly enough.

Cash is king, just go to the ATM and get your cash, as every other tourist.

No need for any bankaccount.
Henrik *****
It is the Thai Authorities that has tightened the rules, so don’t shoot the banks

Forget all about agents, you need to leave Thailand for the whole visa process time.

If you’re not grown up enough to do it yourself, then you are not in the intended group to get the DTV.

If it’s such a big risk for you, then take out your money now.

As you described your situation, you don’t really need to have a bankaccount in Thailand.

Banks want’s customers that use their account regularly and not a few times every couple of years.

Don’t worry to much too soon.
Henrik *****
Same as the primary DTV holder, but as with everything DTV it is Embassy dependant.

Better and quicker to apply for 2 separate DTV visa

Same issue with all banks, since it is the Authorities that ordered it.

Then get a bankaccount, when you get back and actually need it.

That is exactly why all the Thai banks are scrutinizing their customer base at the moment.

If you don’t live in Thailand you don’t need a bankaccount in Thailand.

And the Authorities has ordered banks to be more vigilant about their customers, to bring down fraud and money laundering.

Accounts opened by agents, has a higher risk of being controlled since they were opened by 3. part, and involve corruption.

The needleeye for dependant DTV is much smaller, so better and quicker just apply for DTV for both parents at once.
