....yep .... didn't make sense to me, but that's what I had to do . ..
I went in ( the first time to obtain my one year extension). With all my financial documents ...
Sent me away to obtain the 'affadavit' from my Embassy ....who told me I had to take to the main immigration office in Bangkok to have it 'stamped'
ššš ....which I did ...
Then returned to Prachinburi immigration....who wanted to check and verify all the same financial documents and proof of income I had shown to my Embassy .....ššš as well as bank statement showing proof of the monthly 65,000 baht deposit ( from foreign bank account ) into my Thai account.
Absolutely makes no sense ....
and such a palaver.....but still way way cheaper than having to use an agent
......hi, just read your post and if ya don't mind me asking .....was that to obtain visa/s to the UK?
I'll be planning the start the process in the new year ( for Thai girlfriend as opposed to wife ) hopefully accompany me to me son's wedding in springtime.
I'm not one to be using agents ( I've opened bank account here, obtained non o retirement visa and the one year extension without the need of an agent )
By your experience what are the most important factors they want proof of?
Photos together?
Where we live?
My proof of funds?
Return flights?
Her proof of funds?
Her family ties .... brothers/sisters/ cousins etc....she has a large family
Cheers ... Any and all assistance much appreciated š¤š¤š
. . . Yep, I opened an account with Bangkok Bank ( in Prachinburi ) several months ago on a 30 day extension ( Visa waiver ) . . . . went to immigration, with copies of bio and 30 day extension pages in my passport, and proof of address . . . completed the form . ( ticking the box for bank account ) . Immigration officer gave me letter ( all in Thai ) to take to the bank stating it was sufficient to open an account . . ..5 minutes later was in the bank opening an account . . ..š
