TLDR : Answer Summary
The transition from a 90-day Non-O (retirement) visa to a one-year Non-O visa involves applying for an extension of stay rather than obtaining a new visa. Responses from the community indicate that processing times vary by location, with some offices offering same-day service, while others might take up to a month. Personal experiences shared show that processing times can range from 2 hours to 3-4 hours, depending on the office and day of the week.

You wouldn’t be obtaining a year Non O visa. You can apply for a year “extension of stay”. Like many things it can be office dependent but generally it’s a same day thing or some offices apply day one collect day two.

which is why I mentioned the depend on the office thing. It’s two days in Phuket. Apply on day one and collect on day two.
