TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the misconception that Thai immigration may not know a person's travel history upon passport renewal. Several commenters clarify that Thai immigration has advanced biometric systems and a comprehensive computer database that tracks all entries and exits. They emphasize that fingerprint scans and passport scans provide immigration officials with access to detailed travel histories regardless of passport changes.
Forgot that you was photographed and got you fingerprints taken !
They even use facerecognition, also on cctv and police vehicles, so don’t think they will not know who you are and where you have been.

Make sure you bring your old one. I speak as ex Border Force. It is far easier if you make sure you have your old passport with you…..just in case.

The legitimate question I change my password anytimes through the years. And I think there is a lag time when you change it from old to new. I'm not sure how long that is but I think there is a lag time on the passport. But no lag time on finger prints unfortunately.
no no no . finger prints + your name is widely enough anywhere in the world

You will have to do the new digital entry app three days before arrival so all your information should be on computer if the new system is working correctly.
Darin ********
No if you arrive visa exempt you did the paper form on arrival
just out of curiosity not trying to talk down on you or anything 🙏🏼 but what paper are you talking about? I never had to fill in anything when i arrived on a visa exempt.
it was all digital before too 😅 you know they have your finger prints and picture right? And they scan your passport every time you enter the country or do an extension? Again nothing changed

There was a story in Japan press about a Chinese woman who switched her left and right fingertips (ooouch, surgicaly, in China) trying to fool the Japan Immigration.
Since the story made it into the media, they got her.

This new DTAC system is part of a wider transformation of the country’s migration policy, which is already underway with the deployment of electronic visas (e-Visa) and tighter monitoring of entry/exit to the country.
they don't spend time reading in most cases. It's impossible if it takes 15 seconds to process and stamp. Y'all forget it's Thailand. It's impossible if it takes less than a minute to go thru. Everytime I pass it literally takes a few seconds. Maybe Thais can read at speed that nobody else can 555. Doubt it, worst school system in Asia
that may be case but I can't tell I have immigration officer just open and stamp never taking their eye off the passport. Last guy was so cool and said sorry your visa expired and wish me luck with renewal.
