Iโ€™ve always used NordVPN in every country Iโ€™ve traveled to and it works really well. Good luck. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I used Express when we were in Thailand last year to watch sport (mainly rugby funny old thing!) back in NZ. It worked pretty well, sometimes took a few attempts to connect to the server but after that worked okay. I'va also heard good reports on Nord and SurfShark from third parties, you just have to be aware that some of these people are being sponsored by those providers so read into it what you will. Hope your watching Ireland v France at the moment.

AwardVPN is free so worth a try. I've used it here but not with iPlayer.

I've used EXPRESSVPN, Nordstrom, and Surfshark. EXPRESSVPN and Surfshark are both good, imo.

use a free tier aws instance and setup yours for free. the bandwith should be anough for streaming if you pick the zone close to thai. not an easy solution but if you want to invest some time to understand how to do it it might worth your time

Astrill VPN, I work a lot in China, the Internet is a huge challenge there, Astrill was recommended to me by a colleague who had be living and working in China for over 20yrs.

I have used it for last 2yrs, brilliant, in China, Korea and Thailand.

ExpressVPN, Nord, SurfShark had good reviews for China, all failed to deliver constant service.

They work ok in Thailand tho.

I've used CyberGhost for many years. Includes access to BBCiPlayer.

Expect many different replies all swearing by their particular VPN. However what one person is happy with doesn't suit all. Folk swear by surfshark but I tried it and it was awful.

Probably go for one with good reviews but see if there is something like a 30 day free trial. Watch the rugby then bin it if you don't want to keep it.
