This is a Thailand classic. There is no tourist friendly immigration office, period.., there are only tourist friendly IMOs. So you had a very unlucky day and I had one such unfriendly IMO guy in Surin before. When I saw him leave the office I approached the other folks and they gave my extension promptly.

I got my second 60-day extension. I am positive March 25th deadline to apply for the 60-day covid19 extension will be extended into the summer, at least 2 more times this year.

Yes, I see that. You did very well with 6 extensions though. Congrats. I will leave in September anyway, I just need a few extensions or a land trip to laos.

I have seen many not qualifying due to visa type and on the basis of their country. Are there really a bunch of European or North American with tourist visa or exempt who got denied? I have not noticed personally. Most people don't disclose their country and visa type when they share their experience

1. Marry on paper to a Thai and get Non-O

2. Tourist visa (3 mo) then border crossing and re-entry, each time with 3 mo. I did this successfully for over 5 years. Twice land crossing and unlimited fly-in

3. Educational visa, most do Thai language or Muay Thai.

4. Start a company and get business visa

5. Teach English and get visa

I was asked vaccination card to check in to my hotel. In one village I visited they sent the picture of card to local health authority. Unless, there is a medical reason no-one should be allowed to fly without proper covid19 vaccination, period.. And some airlines already started doing just that.

Prepare to sleep under the cardboards, some hotels asked my vaccination card to let me check in

sorry for my basic question; do somone need to have a thai spouse to qualify for this ME Non-O visa? Does it require funds in thai banks? Thanks for the feedback.

At least one hotel in Bangkok (Marvin Villa) required me to show the proof of vaccination in order to check in. One smal village that I visited in Isan also asked me to give them my vaccination card to submit to their local health officials.

yes, I agree. Good luck about your next 60day extension. I will go to Cambodia for the border run. The problem is though, if the thai side declines 60day extension then I won't have enough time to get paperwork to enter Cambodia or Laos. That is the only issue.
