What are the current rules and experiences for getting a Covid-19 visa extension in Bangkok for USA citizens?

Covid19 60-days extension at Bangkok (USA Citizen, Visa exempt entry).

Two things to share with the community, first the document checking guy on the third floor did not take my hotel TM30 doc. 2 months ago nothing was possible without that piece paper, so now at Bangkok they don't care about it. This was my second covid19 extension, first one was at Bangkok too, not sure that is the reason. Second thing to share is the very serious looking IMO lady asked me when I am leaving the country. She said this is my last 60-day extension and asked me to provide her my departure date. I randomly gave a date to her, she did not ask to see any evidence. That was absurd. Surely, I will inquire another extension in May and I am pretty sure I will get it, possibly at a more tourist friendly immigration office like Udon Thani or Buriram. I felt she was just having a bad day and acting grouchy, but I would like to know if others were also told lately that this is their last extention.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A USA citizen recently shared their experience obtaining a 60-day Covid-19 extension in Bangkok, noting that the TM30 document was no longer required, a departure from previous rules. They indicated that the immigration officer warned this would be their last extension and asked for a departure date without verifying it. Other users echoed concerns that many people were being told this was their last extension due to the current Covid extension program ending March 25. Discussions suggest that the extension may not be available beyond this deadline unless new legislation is enacted.

I know the lady you are referring to. She's stern, but fair. The advice that this is your last one, while delivered intimidatingly, is correct. Because the current order for the covid program ends on 25-March(unless a new order is given to further extend the program), then this is indeed your last one because you would not be able to get another one if the program isn't extended. Assume it's your last, but keep up with the news in this group. If the program is extended once more, this group will be one of the first places you will hear about it.

As of right now the Covid extension program ends on March 25th. If they don't pass a new law, this will indeed be your last extension as they won't exist anymore.

Did you get the extension stamp or an under consideration stamp to come back?

I got my second 60-day extension. I am positive March 25th deadline to apply for the 60-day covid19 extension will be extended into the summer, at least 2 more times this year.

They are saying this is the last one as countries are opened and you can easily fly out

it sounds like you’re saying you’re positive because you want to stay an extra 4 months, I wouldn’t be surprised either way especially with neighboring countries starting to open and the Covid extension already becoming more restricted.

If the TnG gets phased out this summer as that’s the intention the Covid extensions will almost certainly end.

I have seen many not qualifying due to visa type and on the basis of their country. Are there really a bunch of European or North American with tourist visa or exempt who got denied? I have not noticed personally. Most people don't disclose their country and visa type when they share their experience

Did i mention anything about being denied ?

I was referring to your comment about getting another covid extension in May.

Lots of people who are getting the extension recently have been told this is the last and this goes with the timeline the goverment released last week about putting covid as endemic
Andy *******
Many have posted they were told OR out-right denied. Not absurded.

I have had about 6 but was denied on this occasion. They offered me a 30 day discretionary period so I have to leave in 6 weeks. Only tourist visas are being accepted now. Even then expect to be asked questions.

Yes, I see that. You did very well with 6 extensions though. Congrats. I will leave in September anyway, I just need a few extensions or a land trip to laos.

good luck. If I can offer any advice (not that you asked haha) remain polite throughout. If I hadn't they would never have offered me the extra 30 days. Been here nearly 9 years. Off to the UK now to get my retirement visa.
