Covid19 60-days extension at Bangkok (USA Citizen, Visa exempt entry).
Two things to share with the community, first the document checking guy on the third floor did not take my hotel TM30 doc. 2 months ago nothing was possible without that piece paper, so now at Bangkok they don't care about it. This was my second covid19 extension, first one was at Bangkok too, not sure that is the reason. Second thing to share is the very serious looking IMO lady asked me when I am leaving the country. She said this is my last 60-day extension and asked me to provide her my departure date. I randomly gave a date to her, she did not ask to see any evidence. That was absurd. Surely, I will inquire another extension in May and I am pretty sure I will get it, possibly at a more tourist friendly immigration office like Udon Thani or Buriram. I felt she was just having a bad day and acting grouchy, but I would like to know if others were also told lately that this is their last extention.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A USA citizen recently shared their experience obtaining a 60-day Covid-19 extension in Bangkok, noting that the TM30 document was no longer required, a departure from previous rules. They indicated that the immigration officer warned this would be their last extension and asked for a departure date without verifying it. Other users echoed concerns that many people were being told this was their last extension due to the current Covid extension program ending March 25. Discussions suggest that the extension may not be available beyond this deadline unless new legislation is enacted.
