That's a very good idea. He should simply go to the local immigration office and point out the consular officer's mistake and ask them to correct it to the normal product parameters. I wouldn't even mention the fact that it might have something to do with the passport's expiration date.

Maybe that was a mistake, because the DTV is a multiplayer entry visa for five years. They can't just change the product as they want. I haven't seen any requirement that the passport has to be valid for five years. Is January 11, 2028 exactly the expiration date of a passport?

You need to make your application bulletproof. Choose a time for your bank statement shortly before your application. This can be a bit challenging, as you might have to call the bank, and they have a certain processing time. Of course, you want to apply on the first day you arrive in the country, but nothing is free in this world. You'll just have to put in a bit of effort and coordinate it, but later you might won't get any follow-up questions from the consulate.

If you want to save money and can't afford the flight to Vietnam or Cambodia, why not take the bus to Laos? It might take a few hours, but it's not expensive, and you can safely apply for a visa there. You might have an interview, but you're legal, so nothing can happen to you, and after that, you'll have five years of peace.

When you are Italian and are officially registered in Italy then just send a scan of both sides of your ID card. I guess your adress is on the back of your ID card

Nothing lasts forever in Thailand. You live here for the moment. Right now, the DTV is a good option for living a quiet life for one or one and a half years without major stress or headaches, and no one can say what will happen after that. It's very likely that they'll demand the things you wrote above from us in the future. But in Thailand, there's always a way around it, which is why we love Thailand so much. The Facebook group is incredibly active and helpful, and with our collective intelligence, we'll overcome any future hurdles.

Where do you want to apply for the visa? In Germany or outside Germany?

do you have to pay a burmese Visa on top of that ?

Have you spoken to your Muay Thai gym? Can they provide you with the DTV documents? If they've never done this before, it's a bit challenging and could, in the worst case, be rejected. For example, if the gym doesn't have a valid license, the business isn't properly registered, the trainers aren't licensed, or they're not accredited by the Ministry of Sports. I'm no expert, but there's a list of requirements the gym must meet, and it all needs to be properly compiled so that the consulate won't have any unnecessary queries

You paid 10.000 THB for someone who will not take responsibility if there is a rejection ?!? Most people in this group know more about a DTV application than any agent on this planet 😆
