Generally, I would enter the UK address under permanent adress. That's probably where you're officially registered. Current Adress is the Hotel in Hanoi and for the address in Thailand, I would enter the address that's on your thai bank statements.

Do you have a hotel booking or a proof of accomodation like a rental contract ? They might ask you for your adress in Thailand.

The only problem is, even if it's a mistake, these people can't admit they've made a mistake. They've lost face, and they'd probably still insist on it. So, when you call, don't ask if they made a mistake, ask if the computer system might have made a mistake.

Could it be just a mistake ? It is still Songkran and they could have been celebrating for the last three days. Did you called them and asked if that was really their intention to only give you an ordinary Tourist Visa ?

In the worst case, the immigration officer will ask you a question about this, then you simply explain it to him and that's it, there shouldn't be any problems

There are no specifications from the consulate how you prove your current location and if this document is your entry stamp, then that is the proof and then you take the hotel booking and then that's it.

It's still valid at the moment, but I heard that the hotel industry approached the government because they think that someone with the 60-day visa exemption is more likely to stay in a 5,000 baht a month apartment than book an expensive hotel room, and that's probably why they wanted to reduce it.

I haven't seen anything like that either, but theoretically it should be possible under the "sports training" requirement. However, I would first email the relevant embassy to check if it's possible.

Knowing Thailand, the DTV won't be around for a long time. Maybe I'll give it another year, and then they'll shut down the program just like they shut down the 60-day visa on arrival. But I think the remaining visa holders will be able to use their visas until they expire. So don't plan for the future with the idea that you'll be able to apply for the DTV visa again in three or four years; I think it's unlikely.
