I am going to apply for the visa on April 28th and will provide a bank statement with a cash balance as of April 6th. Is that okay, or should the balance be from a date closer to when I apply?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original post inquires whether it's acceptable to provide a bank statement dated April 6 when applying for a visa on April 28. Comments suggest that while it may be acceptable, it's advisable to use a more recent bank statement closer to the application date to avoid potential issues. I applied around March 25 with a bank statement from March 1. No issues.

You need to make your application bulletproof. Choose a time for your bank statement shortly before your application. This can be a bit challenging, as you might have to call the bank, and they have a certain processing time. Of course, you want to apply on the first day you arrive in the country, but nothing is free in this world. You'll just have to put in a bit of effort and coordinate it, but later you might won't get any follow-up questions from the consulate.

Request a closer date , as it may prompt them to come back to you with a request for the transactions between dates of April 6 & x date. Save yourself time

If I were you, I’d request a bank statement dated just a few days before your application. I’m not entirely sure it will make a difference, but I think it’s better to be safe than sorry. Think about it from the perspective of the person reviewing the application — wouldn’t it look better if the statement is recent, rather than from a few weeks ago?

What embassy? I done mine in Hanoi and the money was in the account for 2-3 days. No issue. But I have seen here, some issues in some embassies so that is important
