She cannot extend a Non Immigrant B visa at the local immigration office. The correct way would be to apply at the local immigration office for an extension to stay based on working, but considering the length of her contract I very much doubt that her company will want to go down that path even if they could meet the criterion. Her only option is to apply for another non imm b single (90 days) which would still leave her short by about a month.

As I understand it the key thing is to prove that the original currency wasn’t Thai baht. Foreign bank/currency transfer bank -> Bangkok bank > destination bank in Thailand. Show a paper trail reflecting this (including purchase of Thai baht) along with transaction statements. Otherwise it does look like an internal transfer.

Bangkok bank are the final clearing bank for Krungthai, SCB and Kasikorn, regardless of origin.

I was waiting for you to say that 🙂 Robert.. would she not be better off booking a flight to Laos (within the 30 days) and then getting a proper 60 day tourist visa?

Not familiar with Laos consulates (many here are) am familiar with the Malaysian ones, and they’re being quite strict at the moment..

If your planning to stay as a tourist why not fly to Laos or somewhere within the 30 days and get a proper tourist visa? Solve both problems.

Yes.. combined with the 20k and proof of onward travel within the 30 days as well sounds like a much better plan.. good luck 🙂

I’ve done several there (Samui) over the years and they’ve never checked. Just TM7 and the required fee etc. Doesn’t mean they won’t though.

yes 100% but if you arrive with an onward ticket that’s dated longer than 30 days it might not go down well..

Again, a post about this today. If I remember correctly your ticket for onward travel needs to be within the 30 days. 😕
