never got asked for a yellow book for either Bangkok Bank or Kasikorn, never had one. Residence certificate from immigration was all that was required using the apartments tm30 card.

My non o looks the same. Since then I extended. Nothing wrong with your stamp. Try another bank.

according to the website it is only 1.5% interest. I do agree though that the others pay way less than that.

Bangkok Bank did it 2 years ago for me. Then I wanted to do the same at Kasikorn and I was promptly told "foreigners have to wait 6 months". 2 year later I got the message on the app to come in.

probably the safest way to guard your account but it is so handy to do a cardless withdrawal anytime at the ATM.

i have held my Kasikorn Account for 13 years now and I have never been asked to do any of that. I was however asked to complete facial recognition in any branch so I did it last week and I also received a new bank book as the old one was full. Even then wasn't asked for anything extra.

you sound like an Aussie, so am I. I went did the evisa and was directed to the Sydney Consulate. When you get to the visa section choose non immigrant O and in the next drop down menu choose "other". The next drop down menu will show pensioner over 50 y/o. Choose that one. They will check your funds and must be up to date to the day you apply. The good part of this visa is that there in no bs compulsory Thai health insurance. You can use that non o visa to open a Bangkok Bank account. Since coming here I have extended my visa and all is good. Good luck.
