Possibly not, but let's be realistic, any retiree that doesn't have a miserable 500k baht in cash management, savings, superannuation in their home country isn't going to last too long in Thailand! 😆
That's what I thought. It's a good one for lazy retirees who don't want to go through the process of registering a business name etc. This one is all done for you, and considering some agents are quoting 65k to 100k this seems pretty reasonable. They also say the "courses" can be done online, so you can learn about Thai language (Sawasdee Crap - box ticked), cooking (remember to always over-heat when warming up 7-11 food in a microwave - box ticked) and culture (when visiting a temple pull your shorts down to cover your knees, but ensure your t-shirt is long enough to cover the resulting bum crack - box ticked). How easy is that? 😆
The return of the 90-day notification is very hard to pick as far as time taken is concerned. I've being doing it this way for years, as the online system can flunk at times I don't trust it, but I've had the notification back in as little as seven days and at the other almost six weeks, so it all depends how busy they are. I always take a photo of the completed TM47 form, and the envelope with the EMS sticker and the dated receipt for postage. I've never had a problem, but you never know! There's always that first time when someone wants to see the 90-day report
I love travelling. I'm on a non-O but haven't filed a 90-day report since covid ended. I just love paying 1900 baht per year and don't have to be continually counting days.
