I'm getting ready to apply for the DTV. Does the five year period begin when the Visa is issued or when you arrive in Thailand? I'm not planning on arriving until Dec next year.

They say in the Evisa website you should not apply more than 3 months before you plan to travel. It starts from the date of issue

When you plan to travel december 2025, you should not apply before september 2025.

The visa starts at day of approval.
