Overseas Transfers

Hi all, just got a bank account with Krungthai who were very helpful and will be making my deposit soon ,, Someone here once said when you apply for your 90 day O from your own country immigration don't usually ask for proof of o/s funds ? if anyone can confirm that it would be appreciated as i'll be going through wise and the 400 baht i just sent as a tester was coded DXSDT which i believe means cash transfer.

Arriving in Thailand mid July on a non o retirement visa

Should I transfer my private pension directly each month into my Thai bank or should I arrange for my private pension to be paid into my UK bank and then withdraw monthly into my Thai bank. ??

Are there transfer fee's to be paid each month

And if so which option best suits

Hi everyone! I just got a one year extension on my non-O retirement visa. I have the required funds in my new Thai bank account. I’m thinking I will make deposits monthly of ฿65,000 for the next year at which point I will be able to free up the funds in the account. But my Visa agent just told me that those deposits have to come from a pension not just money or income I have overseas. Is this true? I never saw that anywhere in my research.

Also, I’ve heard conflicting reports on whether using Wise to transfer the funds in will pass muster with immigration. I went to my bank yesterday and asked them for a confirmation letter of international transfer for the initial deposit and they said we don’t do that with Wise.

Am I doing something wrong with Wize? I transfer money from USA to Kasikorn Bank with Wize. I can transfer up to $200 and it posts in seconds but if I transfer a larger amount it takes several days to post. Im not sure where the cutoff is but my last transaction was $800 and it took 5 days (although two were weekend days) and it initially stated the transaction would take 7 days.

Regarding Bangkok Bank:

Does anyone have updated information on the new app upgrade? Any new problems??

My account has been frozen for months and I am out of the country. I have reviewed all of the advice on opening it again when I return but still doing the 65.000 deposit as I only have a few months to reach 12 for retirement. Worried there might be another crazy problem.

Before app gave me the option of upgrade, now will only work if I do.

I just transferred another deposit with Wise and waiting to see if will still be transfered. Thanks

Hi everyone

Q. 1 I arrive to Jomtien on a Non-O 90 day visa Nov 9. When opening a bank account can I use my Hotel address or do I need a lease for a condo?

Q. 2 After opening a bank account can I use Wise to deposit my 800k or do I need to transfer from an International bank?

TIA

I went to jomtien immigration today to ask about the deposits coding issues. Spoke to the officer at window 8. He basically said bangkok bank isnt entirely cooperative with immigration anymore. He said quote. Kasikorn better. Im going tomorrow to the Kasikorn international desk on Pattaya klang to request a credit advice letter on my September transfer, was quoted 200 baht. does kasikorn code their incoming wise transfers as international? I will inquire about that before opening a new account.

How is everyone in Thailand? I hope you are doing well. I wanted to ask if I could transfer 40,000 euros from my Spanish account to my Thai account using WISE. I can prove that this money is mine in many ways, although my question would be: will there be any impediment from WISE in making the transfer to my Thai account? My purpose is because the time has come for me to pay for my marriage visa, so I need to transfer European money to Thailand and start with the paperwork process. Thank you very much everyone, and I hope you are doing well.
