I see, thanks. I currently have two options. My preferred plan is to apply for a single-entry tourist visa and return to Thailand one more time. I would stay for about 40 days and will have an outbound air ticket as well. After that, I plan to leave and apply for DTV. Would I be likely to face any issues re-entering Thailand on a tourist visa under this plan?

Alternatively, I could leave this time and apply directly for the DTV visa, but that’s not my preferred option due to personal circumstances.

I’ve learned that immigration checks at the border have become more strict recently, though I’m not exactly sure why. That said, it seems typical for Thai authorities to enforce tougher scrutiny from time to time.

I traveled to Thailand on my New Zealand passport and stayed for 58 days. After leaving the country for just 7 days, I returned and was questioned by immigration officers about my travel history and my intention of staying in Thailand.
