I entered with a Non O visa yes but the requirements as someone said in a response earlier do not seem to come from a central source and roll out to everyone the same. The request for documents were different 3 times out of 4 banks.
Yea I wanted to get the Kbank but they said I needed the retirement visa stamp. It really comes down to the knowledge of the person and branch your talking to. I was going to try a different here in Buriram but Krungthai worked out well.
It definitely requires patience but as we just retired and moved to Thailand to get out of the rat race and stress simple things like a long process to meet the Thai requirements aren’t stressing me.
Two banks asked for retirement visa stamp the other bank asked for our marriage certificate (my wife is Thai) Krungthai was good and we were able to get it done there.
My wife and I came in and she had to use her foreign passport. She has to leave again and re-enter with her Thai passport. Not a big deal can catch a flight out and enjoy a quick trip and come back
hahaha not bad like that they were actually good to deal with totally not like Philly, and if you are in Philly you are dealing with the same NY office i did. If you want DM me i just got mine approved about 2 weeks ago. unfortunately we were in Thailand already so will have to leave again soon and re-enter.
I messaged them twice both times after getting basically that message you received the following day I got answers to my inquiry. Good luck with your non o and your move
I applied for my non o in USA a months before my stated travel date and reached out to the Thai consulate about two weeks before I traveled and was told they did not like to approve so early. I dealt with the NY Thai consulate and they were quick to respond when I sent a direct message on fb to them asking. I would suggest doing that
