in order to be able to apply for the "change of visa type" from the visa exempt-entry to the initial 90-days Non-Imm-O Retirement Visa, you need to SHOW a minimum of 800,000 THB in your Thai bank account. No seasoning time needed at this point but you must prove the money came from abroad. Then as soon as the 800K have been sitting in your account for 2 months and before the 90 days expire, you can apply for the "1-year extension of temporary stay permit based on retirement"

you enter on a Non-O, visa fee is 60 GBP, you get 90 days stay permit stamped, then transfer 800,000 THB onto your freshly opened Thai bank account and apply for the "1-year extended stay permit" after the money has sat in your account for 2 months. For this 1-year stay permit you buy a multi re-entry permit for 3800 Baht and you can exit and re-enter for unlimited times. NO mandatory health insurance required, NO police record required, No doctor health check required . . . . AND, don't forget, after the 2 years you can max out of a Non-O/A visa, you need to buy a private Thai health insurance, because Thai Immigration will not accept a foreign insurance any more

no, not for DTV holders. . . . . .That is cleary noted on their schedule . . . . . . Only for those over 50 years old who buy the whole package: bank account opening, initial 90-days Non-O visa and subsequent 12-months extension of stay permit.
