They always require a ticket for visa applications. You should book a refundable ticket in case

me too. They never asked for proof of funds. I did send them an email and never got a reply but I received an email confirming the visa with an attachment to print out and present at immigration

I have 60 day visa approved. I've booked an onward flight to return on 7th October, I land on 8th August. They can't cancel before I arrive as this will restrict my 60 day visa. I do have a return flight for 11th September but wanted the 60 day visa in case I want to stay longer. They didn't ask for my arrival date when I booked with Onward

I have a similar problem but I'm not retiring for 3 more years yet. My cat is 7 years old. I'm happy to try to home your cat with mine until you get sorted. No charge at all. Happy to do it. Depends if this suits you and where you are in the UK. I'm in Portsmouth

I use hotels.com and they are very good with 1 free night for every 10. But after a few weeks they merge with expedia and LateRooms.com and its going to points. So not sure if I'll continue with them. I use topcashback for bookings to get some money back. Its not a lot but builds up as loads of other companies are in topcashback. I live in the UK and use my nights for when I'm in Thailand.
