It will depend on the bank what is possible but you want that document to be dated as close as possible to your application date. I got the document on the same day as my application. Got it in the morning, applied in the afternoon.

a visa is tied to a passport number though. My passport number is clearly mentioned on the visa so I still think this can be moved to another passport. That way you don't have to travel with several passports either.
I mean it is probably better to get a new passport but usually 6 months is enough to get the visa. But you will need to move the visa to the new passport when the time comes. That happens in the local immigration office.
