I am currently on a spouse visa but my marriage isn't going great and I am considering switching to the DTV as my visa is expiring in 3 weeks anyway. The thing is that I have around 430k baht on a thai bankaccount. I can easily top this up to 500k. Question is will this be accepted or does the 500k needs to be there for a certain time, i read 3 months somewhere? Any advice on best embassy to apply for DTV in this case?

Many thanks in advance to anyone with some advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on switching from a spouse visa to a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand, specifically regarding the amount of money required in a Thai bank account for the visa application. They have 430,000 baht but can top it up to 500,000 baht before applying. Comments suggest that while the exact requirements can vary by embassy, having the required amount in the bank at the time of application is crucial. One user mentions that their funds were not in the account for long and they still got approved, implying flexibility exists. A recommendation to check the specific Thai embassy's website for details is also provided.

Sprouse visa is a better visa all together, since it is a genuine long term visa, and not just a tourist visa, with those limitations it gives.

If decided to change, read the website of the Thai Embassy you will apply at thoroughly, and search the group for that specific Embassy, to know the specific requirements.

You can't apply for the DTV while inside Thailand. They make you show proof of your current location.

I didn't have my money in my account for a day before showing my bank statement and they approved me.

Try Vietnam or Cambodia or Jakarta. Those are pretty quick 1-2 weeks.

I don't know anything about Spouse visas but when I applied for my DTV I had to upload the most recent bank statement I had showing I had the required proof of funds so I imagine you would need to top up the account before applying for the DTV. That was through London Thai Embassy. As the other BM said all embassies have differences.

Yes, a statement showing 500k.

As the Embassy you will be applying through as they can and do impose the requirements differently
