What documents should I submit as a YouTuber applying for a DTV visa through the NYC consulate?

Hi everyone! I'm a full-time YouTuber with an LLC based in the U.S., and I'm applying for the DTV through the NYC consulate.

I’m preparing a professional portfolio and wanted to ask:

What specific documents did you submit to prove your income and content creator status?

So far, I’ve prepared:

* YouTube channel screenshot + analytics

* 1099s and tax returns

* LLC registration documents

* Channel partner agreement

Has anyone applied through NYC and been approved? Any tips or things you wish you included? Appreciate any help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A YouTuber applying for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) through the NYC consulate is seeking advice on which documents to submit as proof of income and content creator status. The user has prepared several documents, including YouTube analytics, tax returns, LLC registration, and partnership agreements, but is looking for additional suggestions. The community provides various tips, such as including a cover letter detailing income and plans in Thailand, showing bank statements with the requisite funds, and mention of potential delays in the application process.

I applied at the NYC embassy and was approved. I initially was going to do the remote worker but decided against it once the agent explained I would have to produce tax returns and a bunch of other documents. The easiest way to get the visa is to do soft power. Way less headache and risk.

I applied in NYC on 5 May as remote worker (consultant) and still waiting, I sent 29 follow up emails and was told to wait for approval, no additional docs were requested.

Anonymous participant 306 I'm surprised it's taking you so long as a Remote Worker. I also applied to the NYC embassy this year in March and it took less than 2 weeks for Remote Worker. Did they ask you for any additional docs?

write a cover letter telling more info about your youtube channel.

1) how much money do you make through youtube

2) what is your plan to do youtube here in thailand? for example shooting a vdo everyday in your condo and enjoy lower cost of living is the reason you relocated

outline these 2 points can convince embassy staff to approve your visa

put your urtube link in the document as a qr code would be a plus.

Shooting a video in Thailand is not a good idea, that will be seen as working in Thailand which is forbidden by DTV

as long as you are not paid to shoot the vdo by thai company, shooting vdo and upload to youtube is okay.

Youtube is registered outside thailand so shooting a vdo and getting ad revenue from abroad is fine for dtv workcation.

I do not agree with you, it is not remote work. When what you say was true, that would mean you could do any work you want to do inside Thailand, would be allowed without work permit as long as you are paid by a company outside. That just is not true.

So it wasn't at the DC Embassy and I'm not a content creator but as a landlord I was asked to provide specific rent payments as well as homeownership so I would submit the transactions from YouTube into your account. I provided part of my tax return but that didn't seem to matter as much in my case.

I would say the key is showing that you are being paid and have above the required amount of savings in your account for multiple months.

Last i checked, proving your income is not a requirement. You need to provide bank statements to proof you have the required 500k thb in your account.

In my case I am self employed so I provided incorporation document and screenshots of my website and portfolio.

Good luck.
