Ok. I was told that if the child has been legitimized by the local amphur and i'm legally responsible for the child, then it's possible. So , what i've been told is incorrect ?
8 am is the worst time to arrive. You will be so far back in the line. I would get there between 6:00 and 6:30. I was number 6 when I got there at 6:20 the other month. The time before that I went at 8 o'clock and was number 3 hundred and something.
I've have been to that border several times over 8 years. It was a pain in the ass but not overly difficult. However, an awful woman is in charge now. I have felt her wrath twice and she kept my
friend waiting 6 hours whilst he phoned around trying to get a Thai to act as his guarantor. Whilst he was waiting he saw 2 Canadians, an Australian and a fella from the UK denied entry. All he wanted was a 30 day visa exempt. First time he'd ever done it. Eventually a Thai turned up and signed a piece of paper and he was free to re-enter.
She once told me that HER border has different rules to the other borders. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.GO ELSEWHERE.
.....so, if the child was born in Thailand and leaves Thailand on a British/USA or other passport you just show passport and birth certificate to immigration upon leaving the country ?
Get there as early as you can. I was there at 7:10 am last month. There were 6 people infront of me. They opened the gates at 8:00am, so we could sit down inside the consulate. I was out of the building by 9:00 am. Next day I picked up my passport at 1:30 pm. My advice is to get there early.
I have always used the Thai queue. I am a British passport holder but I usually travel with my daughter who holds a Thai passport. Never had an issue at airports or borders.
