Overbudgeting by a long shot. A decent condo with utilities can be less than half in Chiang Mai, and your food & transport are also way higher than necessary. Unless you intend to never eat Thai food, you will be spending less than half of $10 for breakfast & lunch.
ok. Thanks. The third entry in one year could have been a factor in the rejection. In the past anyway, the clock reset on December 31st, so it was best to straddle calendar years.. The overstays would have been a red flag causing them to select you out for enhanced scrutiny. Probably best at this point is to wait a while and apply to the Embassy for your next visit. Get Medicare part B if you expect to return to the U.S., there are penalties for applying late. It will not, however, apply in Thailand. Not sure about SSI, check that, but getting your Social Security is fine.
probably two in one year... but, there could be push back after one time. It's up to the individual immigration officer. The law is still new and untested.
