 to clarify what Tod is saying, yes, he can use the income, but not by applying in country. He needs to apply before he leaves. Look at the link he sent for the consulate in Los Angeles for more info.

I find the nastiness spewed in this group exhausting. It is most definitely the most unpleasant group I’m in. However, I do also occasionally get good information, so I’m still here. I do wish the moderators booted the nasty people though.

Are International Driver Licenses accepted in Thailand and for how long?

The IDP is accepted in Thailand. I'm not sure what this fuss is about. AAA and the U.S. DMV offices are not Internet scammers and that's where we get IDPs.
