You can also try different branches from Bangkok Bank, sometimes they let you open an account if you buy the insurance. Other option I've read is tell them you are buying a condo and you need an account

Keep trying different Bangkok Bank branches. Depends on the person working there. I was able to open one on a student visa but i had to buy insurance from them. Or try an agent.

Officially with the dtv or student visa you are not allowed to open a bank account but many people are successful at Bangkok Bank

I've googled for this one I could not find if I can get it while I'm in Thailand. Now I'm actually afraid that they won't let me in so even thinking of canceling my ED visa before i leave.
