I've heard many successful stories from applicants in HCMC, with a 2 day turn around. What are the mixed things you've heard? (I'm also considering the same question as you re: where to apply from)

it's different everywhere depending on the location or perhaps the officer. I've been given a ticket and told to drive to the police station by myself. I've also had to leave the bike at the police stop and walk to police station. I've had a 1-day grace period and a 7-day grace period. 500 baht fine and a 1000 baht fine....Since getting a Thai license I've had zero issues 😊

seems like a minor error rather than a substantive issue with the applicationn- surprised to hear you've got to fully reapply and pay the $400 !
