I hope someone can help me here please as I found so many contradicting information. I have a Thai visa (Non-O-A), which I used to first enter Thailand on September 16, 2024. A stamp in my passport granted me a stay until September 14, 2025, in accordance with the validity of my German international health insurance. The visa allows multiple entries. I left the country on February 24, 2025. I will re-enter on September 10, 2025. Can I re-enter with a new international health insurance policy valid for one year from Germany to obtain an additional year of stay, corresponding to the validity of the international health insurance policy, or does the health insurance policy have to be based in Thailand?
The retirement visa requirements are confusing me. You have to open a Thai bank account and maintain a minimum balance to apply for the retirement visa, but in order to open the account, you have to show that you already have a long-term visa…. which you can’t get until you get the bank account ? Can someone please straighten me out?
Maybe it’s been asked before , but is it possible to change IN country from a Non O-A extension to a Non -O based on retirement ? All financial requirements are fulfilled
I have been traveling to Thailand for over 30 years, but now I'm retiring and want to spend up to 6 months of the year in Thailand 🇹🇭 and 6 months in the UK 🇬🇧
What is the best option of visa for me please, because there are some new visas available now.
Hi, I'm currently holding a Non-O-A Visa from Canada. I will need to leave Thailand by Aug 2, 2024. That is the expiry date of my insurance. However, the visa is still valid until Aug 21, 2024. So I can leave on Aug 2 and re-enter before Aug 21 to get another year. Is this correct? Also, I would need to show them a new insurance policy for the new year. Correct? Thank you.
I know that I must contact Thai Embassy in UK for official clarification but just wondered how others interpret the situation below :
We are Married UK couple who have been planning to move to Thailand for the last 6 months.
Male 45, Female 51 both UK passport holders.
We have sold our house and many many possessions and was originally planning to move July.
Original plan was for F to apply for Non O-A multi entry and M to apply Non O based on trailing spouse.
Having logged on to register for E-Visa accounts today and checked requirements on Embassy website there has been an update on 4th April and the option on a Non O for a spouse that does not qualify on there own (age based) has been removed......
HOWEVER....The Non O 90 day information still has an over 50 years of age requirement..... But the Non O-A does not stipulate any age requirements
Financial commitments can be met individually for both parties, as can all other conditiions and I understand that Thai Elite / Privilege is an option but I'd rather not have to apply for Thai Privilege Visa and waste the cash if not required.
Canadian passport, retired over 50,currently in Thailand. I want to get a long term visa, just checked the Thai embassy website in Ottawa and it looks like they have eliminated everything except for the non immigrant O-A or arriving visa exempt for short stays. The O-A has to be applied for in Canada so I would have to fly back to complete it.
A basic question please. I got a multiple entry 1 year non imm O-A visa with length of stay 1 year at the Thai Embassy in Helsinki:
Date of grant 21 July 2023
Visa must be used by 20 July 2024
Does it mean that every time I enter I will be stamped in for one year, even if I enter 20 July 2024? With this visa can I buy a re-entry permit after 20 July 2024? Many thks.
