Just read an article that in May 20 25, they are re-implementing the TM6. It will be a digital version and will be up to you to keep it up-to-date as you change residence during your stay in Thailand. The article also said that it will eventually replace the TM 30. So all in all I guess it’s a good thing. They also said everyone no matter what type of visa you are on will be required to keep an update TM6 digital copy. And of course, failure to do so will result in fines or penalties. This is as per the Pattaya Mail

TLDR : Answer Summary
Starting in May 2025, Thailand will reintroduce the TM6 form in a digital format, requiring all foreign nationals to fill it out upon entry and keep it updated whenever they change their residence. This digital TM6 is set to eventually replace the TM30 form and will include penalties for non-compliance. The introduction aims to improve safety and streamline data collection for tourists. However, there are concerns regarding accessibility for those without digital means and skepticism about the implementation time frame.

The TM6 form is making a comeback, but this time in digital format. Starting May 2025, all foreign nationals entering Thailand will be required to fill out the digital TM6 form, regardless of their visa type ¹. This move aims to enhance the tracking of tourists and improve safety perceptions.

The digital TM6 will need to be updated whenever you change residences during your stay in Thailand. Eventually, it will replace the TM30 form. It's essential to keep your digital TM6 copy up-to-date, as failure to do so may result in fines or penalties.

The form will be available online, making it more convenient for travelers. You'll need to provide personal details, travel information, and accommodation details.

Here are some key points to keep in mind:

- *Digital TM6 form*: Will be available online and required for all foreign nationals entering Thailand.

- *Update requirements*: You'll need to update your digital TM6 form whenever you change residences.

- *Replacement for TM30*: The digital TM6 will eventually replace the TM30 form.

- *Penalties for non-compliance*: Failure to keep your digital TM6 form up-to-date may result in fines or penalties.

Overall, the digital TM6 form aims to streamline the entry process and improve safety in Thailand.

You should also consider reading a book or two before your travel I'd recommend a book Thailand Unveiled 2024-2025 by James Anderson on Amazon..it has all the info and recommendations you need..you should check it out. A very good companion

Just like the online for entry into Thailand. Still has not happened. When they say something new is going to happen, it means a 10 project to look at the idea of change

The great thing about living in Thailand is learning to slow down and just enjoy life. Hard for many of us Westerners. lol. Let’s relax. If n when this happens we will figure it out. lol
Chris *******
Yes, and there will be soon also an arrival tax of 300 THB to pay by every foreigner entering the Kingdom

@Chris ******
that’s been officially put on the back burner
Henrik *****
Maybe maybe not, they have been talking for years about it, so don’t worry about it, until it has been voted through Parlament, been published in Royal Gazette, and has come into force.

Until then it is only various medias, that try to get fools to spread their links.
Chris *******
@Henrik ****
thanks for your time and reply. Much appreciated. 👍🏻🙏🏻
Henrik *****
Don’t worry intil it is put into force, it’s the 3 or 4 time the thai media has rumoured it would happen.

Nobody knows anything yet, and there is no need to speculate, until / if it comes into force.

So don’t feed the rumours, and make people confused and worried.

Problem is the digital systems don't work.

Hence more and more people having to do 90Day Reporting in person.

Queues getting longer.

Got to Cheng Wattana 6.15am today.

Ticket Number 144.

@Kevin ********
90 day report work 90% of the time. You have to report in the correct 7 day gap mind

@Sylvia *******
A lot of us in Bangkok have this problem.

You do it in the right time frame but the email acknowledgement has stopped. And Automatic Rejection.

I wonder what they'll do about people who are blind or handicapped. Or people who don't have a phone or internet access or a computer?

@Sue *********
thank you.
Martin ******
How will this replace the TM30? Am I wrong in the impression it is a (web) form you fill in once on arrival?
Wayne ********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Martin *****
the way I read it is it’s an app on your phone and you fill in the information every time you change residence
Martin ******
This would be so much better! Although the people they need to track presumably wouldn't.. What they should do is charge significant penalties for hosts that miss the TM47. Silly getting us to chase. Fingers crossed..

@Martin *****
yes that’s what the article implies. However, it will be up to you to update your residence during your stay in Thailand.
David ***********
@Martin *****
It seems you’ll be expected to update it as you relocate.

@David **********
again pure speculation (the old TM6 was nothing like this)

well I think it was you that posted that you haven’t read anything about it so I posted the one article about the TM 30 and of course we all take this kind of information. With a grain of salt. But it’s something to think about.

@Wayne *******
Yes cant see it happening TM 6 and TM 30 are different. Too much red tape to suddenly bunch them together

well as a recall it’s been a few years, but the TM six has pretty much the same information as the TM 30 you just put the address where you’re staying should be very simple and it would be well worth it if you didn’t have to report every 90 days.
Bob **********
Will see another we’re doing this could change a hundred times and still not happen

I Wonder?

Where do They keep all coupes and photos???

Every Year, after year,

Sometimes you go 2 times, same paper???

@Be***
A few years ago I went to CW to extend my non O Thai wife visa. I went back after the under consideration period to get stamped.

When the IO called my number she told me I had to go and get my photo taken cos it's used the same photo as the year before. She even had the previous case papers there to hand, so they do store them and refer to them
Greg ******
They should keep a paper option available.
Sue **********
@Greg *****
especially for all those without a Thai mobile no which is required or for people without smartphones 😉
Bobby *******
@Sue *********
how do you know a Thai number is required the system hasn’t even been implemented yet
Sue **********
@Bobby ******
It was written in one of the various online news about this
Bobby *******
@Sue *********
you can’t possibly believe that can you? The typical tourist doesn’t have a Thai number you idiot
Sue **********
@Bobby ******
its not me and can‘t believe it either, if you read my comment carefully (I call you the same Idi***), I just quoted was was written in the media like this one:

Not really an issue at all. Malaysia has MDAC, which is easy to do.
Nongnuch ********
even IF the digital TM6 gets introduced by beginning of May, it definiteley will NOT replace the TM30 accomodation registration. As this is a completely different system
Derek ********
Why do they require a TM6 and possibly an ETA when the same information will be on both ?
Benjamin *********
@Derek *******
"why" does not matter.
Michael *******
@Derek *******
ETA will eventually replace TM6 in all likelihood, baby steps, which makes sense, ETA is a big change especially with upgrade to electronic gates replacing immig.
Kim *********
@Michael ******
ETA was meant to be only for those entering visa exempt. TM6 was for all. Don't see any replacing here unless they change the requirements
Jo **********
@Michael ******
they are simply adopting a system similar or nearly identical to Singapore doing this negates the need for ETA. The new system is an electronic arrival form.
Sue **********
@Michael ******
The ETA has to be filed digitally before travelling to Thailand and you can only travel after approval. The (new form) of TM6 has to be made after arrival in Thailand.
Michael *******
@Sue *********
new TM6 is going online, and submitted prior to travel, otherwise once people are in the country they won’t bother….
Sue **********
@Michael ******
how can it be made before travel when it reqires a Thai mobile no to register?
Stuart *********
@Derek *******
Why do they require a TM30 or a TM47 or photos and copies of passports and entry stamps/extensions/visas when that information is already on their computer systems?
Nongnuch ********
@Derek *******
the ETA has been postponed to an indefinite date, so it won't be implemented together with a digital TM6, unless they announce it by April

“It’s not a visa but an entry requirement irrespective of visa status. It is obvious that the key information is for the foreigners to give his or her address in Thailand. In theory, this information is available on a manual TM30 form submitted in paper form soon after arrival. But many tourists and expats do not regularly update their TM30, or have never heard of it, leading to enormous gaps in the immigration data base. The assumption is that the TM30 will disappear and replaced by the online TM6. If foreigners change their address whilst in Thailand, they will presumably be able to update the TM6 on their mobile device.”

Yes but there are no official details on how to apply as yet. Going on past history with official announcements we will probably hear on the 30th April how to do it. Perhaps a bit before but I won’t hold my breath on that.
