And as we currently understand, one can get a 60 day visa exemption free,+ 30 day extension at 1900 bth. Plus 2 border runs, + 2 air runs .. visa cost at 1900× 4 = 7,600 bdt. And one gets to enjoy different cultures, not a bad deal, if the Thai government .. wakes up and says WTF ?? .. Happy to live in Vietnam. Chao.

Tens of thousands of people do visa runs via air to thailand every month, stay a couple of days, then off to their home country. Done it for years. Never a comment asked or given.

We that live in Vietnam do visa run 4 times per year, never a question asked.

Thailand is full of idiots and getting worse by the years. Idiocy is rising among the tourists and xpats, while the animosity and resentment is brewing among the natives. Just returned from Ekkamai and had the opportunity to chat with my old Thai friends.

Sorry about your situation, hope you get it sorted out .. But do know.. This is the worst country in SE Asia to be a tourist and have any issues. Make as much noise as you can. In the end they will come to their senses. Lived there, owned businesses there, and know it well.

Really incredible at what length .. Anyone would go to satisfy an immigration criteria, including giving " anyone" access to ones personal financial information. This is what most banking institutions are telling their customers .. Not to do ! For those that desire to retire outside their own country .. there are lots of alternatives to Thailand. Currently sitting in Ekkamai for a 3 day period, itching to leave back to Hoi An, where no- one is asking about my financial resources. Cheers.
